terms of service

last updated: 23 july 2026 · plain-language draft. before you publish it, replace the bracketed placeholders (legal name, contact email, governing law) and have a qualified lawyer review it. this is not legal advice.

pip is provided by doorado ("we", "us"). by downloading, installing, or buying pip, you agree to these terms. if you don't, please don't use it.

what pip is

pip is a desktop companion app for personal, non-commercial use. it is not a medical, legal, financial, or mental-health service, and it is not a substitute for professional help or for real human relationships. pip will say as much itself. if you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.

your licence

we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use pip on devices you control, for as long as you comply with these terms. the software is licensed, not sold. after purchase you receive a pip licence key that unlocks paid features; please don't share it publicly. we or Dodo Payments may limit the number of devices a key activates.

ai features & your content

chat and some other features send a minimal prompt through pip's hosted service to Anthropic's Claude, as described in the privacy policy. you keep ownership of what you type. because replies are generated by an AI model, they can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable — use your own judgment and don't rely on pip for professional advice. you're responsible for how you use its output.

pip social

pip's optional friend feature relays short notes between users. you have to swap codes with someone before either of you can send anything — there's no directory, no discovery, and no way for a stranger to reach you. notes are held only briefly on our service and then expire (see the privacy policy).

community guidelines

anything you send another person through pip is yours, and you're responsible for it. these are the things we won't host:

reporting. if someone sends you a note that breaks these guidelines, open the thread in pip's mind → friends, hover the note, and choose ··· → report. pick a category, add anything we should know, and send. reports come straight to us and a person reads them. you can also remove or block a friend from the same room at any time — you never have to wait for us to act first.

what we do about it. we review every report. depending on what we find we may remove relayed content, disable the friend feature for an account, or end access entirely. we'll also remove or disable content when a platform we distribute through asks us to. we don't monitor or scan notes proactively — the relay is deliberately thin and short-lived — so reports are how we find out.

payment, preview & refunds

acceptable use

don't use pip to break the law or harm others; don't attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the software except where that restriction is prohibited by law; don't circumvent the licensing or usage limits; and don't use it in ways that violate Anthropic's usage policies. we may suspend access for serious or repeated violations.

intellectual property

pip, the pip name, logo, artwork, and the software itself are owned by doorado and protected by copyright and other laws, except for third-party open-source components, which remain under their own licences (see the third-party notices shipped with the app). these terms grant you no rights in our trademarks.

no warranty & liability

pip is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

termination

you may stop using pip and uninstall it at any time. we may suspend or end the licence if you materially breach these terms. on termination, the rights granted to you end; the sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) continue to apply.

changes

we may update these terms or the app over time. material changes will be noted here with a new "last updated" date. continued use after a change means you accept the current terms.

governing law & contact

these terms are governed by the laws of india, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of new delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. questions: support@doorado.in.
